Round 1: (6) Spooky, Spooky Little Bat vs. (11) Batman Shapes

It's a Bat-danceoff!

Spooky, Spooky Little Bat
Available in board book format. (Amazon)

The fun thing about Christmas for babies is that you can basically let them pick out their own presents and they have no idea, which is how we ended up with Spooky, Spooky Little Bat instead of, say, a Furby or a Teletubby, or whatever it is the kids were into last Christmas. H. saw the friendly bat puppet in with all the overstock Halloween books at Ollie's, got really excited about it, and into the cart it went. Its basically Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star with the words changed to be about a bat on Halloween, hanging out with ghosts and witches and the like. Pretty cute stuff.

Batman Shapes
by Benjamin Bird and Ethen Beavers
Available in board book and Kindle formats. (Amazon)

This is a book about going on a mission to help Batman find shapes all over Gotham City. H. loves it, and has gotten pretty good and pointing out the shapes, which of course, is going to come in handy when he starts his life as a vigilante who only investigates very specific, shape-based crimes.

Match-up Analysis

We know how well things are going for finger puppet books in the tournament, which is to say, it's pretty wishy washy. On the other hand, superhero books are, so far, undefeated. I hate to say it looks obvious, but I feel like it looks pretty obvious.

Prediction

Batman Shapes in a decisive victory.

Results

Batman Shapes kept the streak alive.

Up Next

Batman Shapes will go up against Happy Hippo, Angry Duck on April 23rd.

That's it for Round 1! Round 2 will start up on April 8th with Moo, Baa, La La La vs. Cars and Trucks From A To Z!
