Peekaboo With Cheeky Monkey was the original lift-the-flap book that H. got back in the aforementioned bundle of UK books, which he liked so much that we had to hunt down the rest of the series internationally. It follows Cheeky Monkey around the African savanna as he looks for other animals. The art in the book is really cute, and there are tons of cute details to point out, which H. is a big fan of.

H. got this from a friend of ours, who received three copies at their own baby shower. This is a little mind boggling to me because I honestly don't think I'd even heard of this book before H. was born, so it seems a little nuts that'd it would be popular enough to get multiple unasked-for copies of it. In any case, it's a cute little poem about all the different things in the universe that celebrated when your kid was born, which is either sweetly endearing or mildly narcissistic. But the art is cute and there are a couple of interactive moments in the poem, so it's a fun little bedtime read.

Match-up Analysis

Much like Peekaboo With Spotty Dog last night, Peekaboo With Cheeky Monkey is the favorite here. H. likes On The Night You Were Born, but it's nowhere near the hit that Cheeky Monkey is, and I just don't think it'll be able to power through for the win.
