Round 1: (8) A Charlie Brown Christmas vs. (9) Three Little Kittens

Will this be a murder by kitties? Read on to find out!

A Charlie Brown Christmas
by Charles Schultz
Available in board book, paperback, hardcover, and Kindle formats. (Amazon)

I probably don't have to explain to you what A Charlie Brown Christmas is. If you've made it through a holiday season in America, you've lived through the zeitgeist. The book is the animated special in text form. Pretty self explanatory. That said, even after a 30 second google search an exhaustive hunt into the depths of the internet, I haven't been able to find the exact copy we have for sale anywhere, so follow the link to the Amazon page of the umpteen different variations on the same story, in a wide variety of formats.

Three Little Kittens
by Tanya Linch
Available in board book, paperback, and hardcover formats. (Amazon)

After a year plus of parenting, one of the main things I've learned is that every children's song or nursery rhyme you remember from when you were a kid actually has about 10 more verses your parents clearly got sick of repeating for you. Such is the case with Three Little Kittens. Until I picked up this book, I didn't realize there was any additional story after the reckless kittens initially lost their mittens (which I took very literally as a child, assuming that meant the little kittens' feet fell off. Clearly H. gets his weird kid genes from me). There's at least two more verses here involving pie and laundry that I'd never heard before. Maybe there are more out there somewhere. If I find out, I probably won't read them to H. Three verses is quite enough.

Match-up Analysis

Not just one kitty, but three? A Charlie Brown Christmas doesn't stand a chance.

Prediction

Three Little Kittens with extreme prejudice.

Results

H. was extremely prejudicial in choosing Three Little Kittens.

Up Next

Three Little Kittens will face Dancing Feet on April 12th.
