Round 1: (7) First 100 Animals vs. (10) Frankenstein

The Living versus the Formerly Dead!

First 100 Animals
by Roger Priddy
Available in board book format. (Amazon)

First 100 Animals contains, as you may have guessed, 100 different animals for your child to learn. Or, if you're H., to call "cow" or "kitty" repeatedly until you get to an actual cow or kitty. He's not very discerning with his animals.

Frankenstein
by Jennifer Adams and Alison Oliver
Available in board book format. (Amazon)

Yet another BabyLit book, this time about body parts (natch!). This one is a nice quick read, and H. likes it a lot now that he's learning to point out his own body parts when asked.

Match-up Analysis

First 100 Animals isn't a big hit, to be honest. When H. does want to look at it, he ends up getting bored quickly. Frankenstein, however, is one he loves a lot, and it gets read fairly regularly.

Prediction

Goth Baby picks Frankenstein.

Results

Goth Baby lived up to his name and picked Frankenstein.

Up Next

It'll be Battle of the Goth BabyLit on April 14th when Frankenstein goes up against Dracula.
